Rondane National Park

Last august, after a remarkable weekend together with "the old Gang" from Ålesund, we returned to Oslo by using the road from Hjerkin - Folldal - Venabu - Ringebu, passing by the Rondane National Park which is the oldest national park in Norway, established in 1962.

Rondane is a typical high mountain area, with large plateaus and a total of ten peaks above 2000 metres (6560 feet). The highest point is Rondslottet ("The Rondane Castle") at an altitude of 2178 metres (7146 feet).

The Norwegian painter Harald Solberg has made several artistic paintings of Rondane, but my painting is made out of a photo taken on that journey in 2006.
