New canvas ready and paperworks can rest.

Six new canvas have been made ready for new paintings, and my paperworks can take a break. This Picasso inspired painting (acryllic on paper) is used as a wallpaper at our "utedo" among pictures of royalyties from different countries. I just had to do something with my paintbrushes and ended up with this.

In my Norwegian blog I have told about a visit to Geiranger and Terje Fagermos (with daughters) exhibition there. The paintings below are also made by Terje, and can be seen at Geiranger Fjordsenter.

Abstinence - lack of canvas

Due to lack of canvas during the weekend, I had to make these paintings om paper.
However, based on previous experience this medium is still one of my favourite, and the result ("Meditation" above and "Afternoon at the cottage" below) is satisfaying the hunger for painting.

Thy will on earth be done, as done in Heaven

After seeing the exhibition "A modern classic" at the National Gallery by Olle Bærtling at the same time I made another abstract painting, I decided to do an imitation of one of O.B.´s works. I call the last painting "Heaven and Earth".
These two (or three) paintings now cover the walls at my Dining room at the cottage.
May be the walls have to be repainted too.

Two colours and white

Is it possible to make a painting from only two colours and some white?
Yes.

This portrait is made from Prussian Blue and SAP Green HUE with some White Titanium and plain water. Acryllic on Canvas, 80x64 cm.

Normally I build up my paintings from a lot of colours, but may be I should try to make som fewer variations in the future. It works, and in spite of not beeing a portrait painter, I am satisfied with the result.

The Motive? some friends living in Trondheim, Norway.

Summer paintings

Many painters have tried to make paintings of Poppies. I am not trying to do so, but have still called this work "Poppies at Tullarbo".

My last painting was presented in my Norwegian blog some time ago. If interested please click on this link Norwegian blog
