Houses for Atle, Lektern

Hus for Atle

What do you do when somebody like very much one of your paintings, but that is 1/3 of a triptych, and made to decorate a specific part of your cottage walls? You make a new version. Not a copy, but a painting with almost the same colours and shape.

For Atle this painting has been made because he liked another and as an appreciation for nice luncheons (as quality control though), at Lektern restaurant. Quality is customer satisfaction = Perception over Expectation = 1. When customers perceive more than expected (> 1) you have customer delight.
Lunch at Lektern this summer har absolutely been a positive surprise. Thanks.

Four Seasons

In all times painters have been making their versions of the four seasons. By combining colours and situations from nature and culture painters have tried to cover what public may think of in Springtime, Summertime, Autumn and Wintertime. You may find many examples of this if you search the internet.

My versions can be seen in the four nude acts.
Springtime or Nature is awakening

Summertime or Maspalomas

Autumn or Anitra is dancing

Wintertime or Blue act in pearl tanga

This painting came out of a short visit to the Academie Pintura in Lecce Italy. Having +41 deg. outside in the hot sun we searched for shadows and air-conditions. Not only window shopping this day, but also entering tourist shops for cooling down.

After lunch we had to visit the academy for art and was allowed to see some works in the lobby. one of the paintings looked almost like this, but of course not as good as mine, and not called The Piano Teacher.

To day I have put it on the cottage wall close to my Chello player.

Returning home and making painting of an Italian City. Neaples?

Photos from an interesting though hot holliday in Basilica and Puglia, Italy

Between 21st june and 5th july we stayed two weeks in the southern part of Italy. Starting in Neaples, joining the 11th European Heart-Lung Transplant games, and visiting Ischia and Pompei, we rented a car and went south and east.

First we went around the Amalfi Coast, had lunch at Minori, and stayed a night at Hotel Olimpicos at the beach south of Salerno.
The next day we passed Potenza and visited Matera on the way to Alberobello or Hobitt-Town as we called it.

We stayes some days visiting the Grottoes of Castellana, Polignano a Mare, Locorotondo and Martina Franca. A spectacular way through the winefields of Trulli and good wines all over the area.

From that area we continued south to Lecce. By the reception at our hotel La Chiusa di Chietri we were recomended not to stay more than one day in Lecce. A good advise and when the Air-con closed down in pluss 41 degrees we could have made the stay even shorter.

From this city we went further down on the Salentine peninsula to see Otranto, the end of the world Santa Maria di Leuca and followed the Ionian coast to Gallipoli. In this city we had to join the Italians celebrating Italy´s victory over Ukrain in the WC football 2006. Show.

A short trip north brought us to Taranto. At last an urban city with shops and restaurants of good quality but still low prices for the wine and pasta. From here we continued north-west along the Golfo di Taranto over the highland to Maratea and Mar Tirreno. The road went up and down with 180 deg. turns all the way. We ended up in Agropoli but decided to continue pasing Paestum to our good hotel at the Salento coast, before we ended the journey in Neaples for the return to Norway.

Our own photos ca be seen at Italiaferie 2006

Arrivederci Italia.

However, the Norwegian team received 31 medals in the 11th European Heart Lung Transplant Games. The editor missed the start on Short put, did not succeed in ball throw, and was more concerned abouth health than trophes in 4000m cros country run. Caused by organizing problem he was announced as winner of a silver medal for the 4krun, but could not accept to receive it when not participating.
